The deal.Kept short.

These terms are the agreement between you and Thomas Kanze, who makes and runs Nuffo (“Nuffo”, “we”, “us”). They cover nuffo.app, the iPhone app, the @nuffo/cli tool, the hooks it installs, and the Nuffo connection for AI assistants (together, “the service”).

By creating an account or using the service, you agree to these terms and to our privacy policy. If you don’t agree, please don’t use Nuffo.

You need to be at least 16, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live. If you use Nuffo for work, you confirm you’re allowed to agree to these terms for that purpose. One person per account.

• Give us a real email address you can read. We use it for sign-in, password resets and the emails you choose.
• Keep your password, sign-in links and AI connection tokens to yourself. You’re responsible for what happens in your account, including what the AIs you connect do with their access.
• Tell us at hello@nuffo.app if you think someone else got into your account.

It’s yours. Everything you put in Nuffo (tasks, wishes, projects, notes, what you dictate or forward) stays yours. We claim no ownership.

To run the service, you give us permission to store, copy, process and display your content, and to send it to the service providers described in the privacy policy (for example to sort it or to answer you in chat). This permission is only for operating and improving Nuffo for you, and for showing your public page if you turn it on. It ends when you delete the content or your account, except for copies in backups, which expire within about 30 days.

You confirm you have the right to put your content in Nuffo, including anything you forward from other people. You can download everything or delete your account at any time from settings.

Nuffo is for organising your own life and work. Please don’t:

• break the law, or use Nuffo to harass, threaten or harm anyone;
• put content in Nuffo you have no right to, or that infringes someone else’s rights;
• try to get into other people’s accounts or data, probe or break our security, or get around the limits (like rate limits or the rules around your three);
• overload the service, scrape it, or use automated access beyond the tools we provide (the API, MCP connection, CLI and hooks);
• use the scatter-o-meter to target, shame or harass a person;
• resell the service or use it to build a competing product.

If you do, we may limit or suspend your access (see “Ending things” below).

Nuffo uses AI to sort what you dump, suggest your three, match work to your projects, chat with you, draft steps, read emails you forward and turn speech into text. AI can be wrong. It may misread, missort, miss a date or suggest something unhelpful.

• You decide. Suggestions are suggestions. When sorting isn’t confident it asks you, and nothing reaches your today unless you put it there.
• Everything is undoable. Every change made by Nuffo or a connected AI comes with a receipt and an undo.
• Don’t rely on it for anything critical. Please don’t use Nuffo as your only record of medical, legal, financial or safety-critical deadlines. Nuffo is a helper, not an advisor, and nothing it says is professional advice.

You can connect AI assistants and coding agents to Nuffo (through the CLI, the MCP connection or an AI app). When you do:

• A connected AI can add things to your dump and read your context. It can never write your today; that stays yours alone. Each change it makes is logged with its name and can be undone.
• You’re responsible for the AIs you connect and the tokens you create. Treat tokens like passwords, and revoke any you don’t use (in settings, or with npx @nuffo/cli disconnect).
• The hooks fail open: if Nuffo is slow, down or returns an error, your agent keeps working (with a warning). A hook is a nudge, not a guarantee that a command will be stopped or allowed.
• The CLI changes settings files on your computer (like your AI tool’s hook and rules files) when you run connect, and disconnect undoes them. Check what it will change before running it on a machine you care about.
• Apps like ChatGPT that can only use the MCP connection get your context and can capture things, but Nuffo can’t enforce your limits inside them.

Your public page is off until you turn it on. When it’s on, anyone with the link can see what it shows (finished work on the projects you marked public, and a few counts). You’re responsible for what you make public; don’t publish anything private about other people.

The scatter-o-meter makes a playful card from an X account’s public posts. It’s a toy, and its numbers and jokes are estimates, not facts about anyone. Anyone can remove a card from the card itself.

Nuffo is currently free. If we introduce paid plans, we’ll announce them in advance and tell you before anything you already use changes, and you won’t be charged unless you choose a paid plan. The rules (three things a day, three projects, the 7-day wait for new ideas) stay free.

We work hard to keep Nuffo running and your data safe, but we can’t promise it will always be available, fast or error-free. It’s run by a small team, and sometimes things break or go down for maintenance.

We may change, add or remove features. If we remove something significant you rely on, we’ll try to tell you ahead of time. If we ever shut Nuffo down, we’ll give you at least 30 days’ notice and a way to download your data.

You can stop using Nuffo and delete your account at any time in settings. Deleting is immediate and permanent.

We may suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, puts others or the service at risk, or where the law requires it. Unless it’s urgent or the law prevents it, we’ll tell you why first and give you a chance to download your data.

Parts of these terms that by their nature should last (like ownership and liability) continue after an account ends.

Nuffo is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including that the service is fit for a particular purpose, uninterrupted, error-free, or that AI output is accurate. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have as a consumer that can’t be limited by agreement.

To the extent the law allows, we’re not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, data, opportunities or goodwill, arising from your use of Nuffo, including missed tasks or deadlines, AI mistakes, or a hook that did or didn’t stop a command.

Our total liability for any claim about the service is limited to the greater of what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or 50 US dollars.

None of this limits liability that can’t be limited by law, such as for fraud, gross negligence, wilful misconduct, or death or personal injury caused by negligence.

We may update these terms as Nuffo changes. We’ll update the date at the top, and for significant changes we’ll tell you by email or in the app at least 14 days before they take effect. If you keep using Nuffo after that, the new terms apply. If you don’t agree, you can delete your account.

• These terms and the privacy policy are the whole agreement between you and us about Nuffo.
• If one part turns out to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.
• If we don’t enforce something right away, we haven’t given up the right to later.
• You can’t transfer your account or these terms to someone else. We may transfer them if Nuffo changes hands, and we’ll tell you if that happens.
• If something goes wrong, please write to us first at hello@nuffo.app. Most things can be sorted out with a conversation. This doesn’t take away any right you have to go to a court or authority where you live.
