the story behind nuffo

Hi, I’m Thomas.I start too much.

I live in the jungle of Costa Rica with my three kids. It’s the life I chose on purpose: slower, greener, closer. And still, most days, my head felt like a browser with 60 tabs open.

A riso jungle at dusk: a wooden house on stilts, a hammock, a toucan, and Nuffo reading a list of three

Too many lists.Not enough done.

I tried everything. Every app was good at one thing, and together they became a second job.

  • Google Keep
  • Todoist
  • ChatGPT
  • Grok
  • notes to self
  • the back of an envelope

Ideas went into one, errands into another, the big plans into a chat with an AI that was always happy to help me start something new. Starting got so easy it stopped being a decision.

121 projects touched this year. Finished? Fewer than I’d like to admit.

The truth is, I felt a little lost. Busy all day, and still not sure I’d done the thing that mattered.

Not because I lacked ideas. Because I had too many, and nothing in my life helped me choose. Every list I kept just made the pile taller. I didn’t need another place to put things. I needed someone to say: these three, today. The rest can wait. Now go live.

So I builtthe thing I needed.

Nuffo is small on purpose. You empty your head into it, by typing, talking or forwarding an email, and it sorts everything for you. Then it holds the line:

  1. Three things a day. One is the main win.
  2. Three projects, max. A fourth means shelving one.
  3. Shiny new ideas wait a week. Most fade. The good ones are still warm.

And a little orange monster who’s on your side. I built it for me first. It’s been one of my three since the day I started.

What I promise you.

  • No streaks to lose. No pet that dies, no guilt when you miss a day. Life happens; Monday starts fresh.
  • Your stuff stays yours. Download everything or delete your account anytime, from settings. Your public page is off unless you turn it on.
  • A real person reads your email. Me, from the jungle, usually with a coffee. Tell me what’s broken or what you wish Nuffo did.
  • Built in the open. I share what I finish (and what I don’t) on X.

If you start too much too, you’re my people. I hope Nuffo gives you a little focus, and a lot more life.
